Courtesy of my friend Zoli, I went back to the source of this pic. The discussion around whether the two guys are likely to get fried nuts provides an illuminating education into the physics of water and electricity:

Leakage current and capacitive current can kill, like I said, I would not endorse such a thing, but in all likelyhood, the leakage current through the likely pvc pool would be in the uA range, and the capacitive current from 120VAC is low enough that I can grab directly onto a live hot wire and so long as no part of me is touching anything grounded, there is no shock (or even sensation). But please, do not try this at home!!!

I don’t remember my school physics lessons being as much fun as this. The closest we got was let off stink bombs that made people vomit. Oh well.
